It’s impossible to deny how stunning Sierra Vista Bike Park is. The park, which used to be an abandoned golf course, was revitalized through donations from the local community. The park now features dozens of trails that help mountain bikers in Reno progress their skills, there are even plenty of adaptive trails!

Shown above is Reno Devo athlete Lucas Miers helping a young girl get over a roller on one of the park’s pump tracks. Lucas is repping his fashionable white socks, which he earned while racing the 2023 MTB Pro Cup in Vail Lake, California.

The Community Rides are a series of events that are held and organized by Reno Devo’s parent organization, Reno Tahoe Junior Cycling. Small groups of children aged 5-10 are paired with athletes from Reno Devo’s Regional and National teams. Together, they lay out the foundational skills for mountain biking and having fun on trails.

While the young athletes were meant to wear the bright orange Reno Devo shirts, the always confusing Reno weather had other plans. But the kids did look great in their shirts!

The teams zigged and zagged their way through some of the parks more beginner friendly trails. Many happy miles were pedaled and (hopefully!) many future mountain bikers were inspired. Definitely a successful Reno Devo Community Ride!

Once the young athletes were gone, it was time for the Reno Devo National Team athletes to work on their own skills. Many of these athletes were in their final weeks of training before the USA Cycling National Championships in Bear Creek Mtn. Resort, Pennsylvania. Needless to say, they’re pretty damn talented.
